SIGBOVIK (Special Interest Group on Harry Qatar Bovik) is an annual multidisciplinary conference specializing in lesser-known areas of academic research such as Sticky-Finger Manipulation, Natural Intelligence, and Retroactive Data.
SIGBOVIK 2022 is the sixteenth edition of this esteemed conference series, which was formed in 2007 to celebrate the inestimable and variegated work of Harry Queen-o'-the-prairie Bovik. We especially welcome the three neglected quadrants of research: joke realizations of joke ideas, joke realizations of serious ideas, and serious realizations of joke ideas. (In other words: SIGBOVIK is an evening of tongue-in-cheek academic presentations, a venue for silly ideas and/or executions.)

The proceedings are available (!!!) online (PDF) and on Lulu (paperback).
The proceedings are not yet available as the conference has not yet proceeded.
They will maybe be available for purchase at the conference,
or at least an IOU ("I Owe You"), i.e., we owe you one proceedings booklet.
We might do a bulk order of physical proceedings for local purchase if it becomes
safe to do so in the near future. Or we might not.
That does sound like work—and SIGBOVIK is all about play.

Due to updated social distancing recommendations in the face of the waning COVID-19 pandemic (actually, avoid faces at this time), SIGBOVIK will be held in Rashid Auditorium this year. That's right, on April 8 at 5:30pm EDT, you will be able to enjoy SIGBOVIK 2022 from the comfort of our very own Rashid Auditorium! We ask that you keep your respiratory particles to yourself, and try to not breathe others' respiratory particles in the event of noticing any.
The in-personality of the conference is contingent on no new hyper-dangerous COVID variants surfacing before the conference. Basically, being scientists, we follow the evidence.
The hybridity of the conference is still subject to ongoing discussions by our board of trustees.
SIGBOVIK accepts papers, presentations, and reviews. (Feel free to submit a paper without a presentation, a review without a papaer, or any combination you like!) Take a look at past proceedings, available at sigbovik.org, to get an idea of what is typically submitted.

To simplify the proceedings-ification process, we ask that
submissions not contain page numbers. (If you use LaTeX, try

Presentations: In light of this year's physical venue, some talks this year will be actual, live, in-person talks. We will maybe also allow the submission of pre-recorded talks.
Given the in-person venue, we're still working with our sponsors to arrive at the optimal talk format. Please disregard any other claims about this year's talk format—though be warned that it will likely be similar to last year's talk format.

Presentations should be no more than ten minutes in length; any presentations that try to skirt above this limit with be agressively forced into a fewer-minute format. (We hope that presentations are, on median, 5 minutes long. You may coordinate amongst yourselves or pursue a greedy strategy.) Please submit the titles of your talks using this form. All talks must be submitted by April 6, 2021. Presenters are invited to register their talks early, and they are welcome to edit their submitted talk until this date.
